Self Tans are a great safe way to achieve a natural looking tan and there are so many options available. To get that great tan, some preparation is needed so here are our top tips for getting a flawless looking tan.
- Plan Ahead: If you are planning on doing a tan for a special event, it's important to start prepping the day before. (e.g. exfoliating and shaving)
- Exfoliate: Exfoliation gets rid of dead skin cells and allows for even application of your self tanner. Always exfoliate a day before you plan to tan.
- Moisturise : After showering, moisturise focusing on areas that can get dry (e.g.elbows, knees and ankles.
- Clear Nail Polish: If you find your nails take on a tan aswell as your hands, try using clear nail polish before application to prevent staining. You can also try Vaseline.
- Always use a mitt: We have a good selection of mitts in store. A mitt is a must have tanning tool to help prevent the palms of your hands tanning and also helps with an even coverage.
- Wait: Wait 2 - 5 minutes for your tan to dry before putting clothes on. If possible wear loose fitting clothes to help prevent tan staining.
