A cold sore appears as a blister, normally around the mouth that takes usually between 7-10 days to fully heal. There are many causes for a cold sore to flare up including stress, illness and hormone fluctuations.

We have plenty of treatments in store to help, our favourites are:
  • Lysine Tablets: Depending on whether you suffer from cold sores quite a lot or just occasionally, we have a Sona Supplement you can take.
  • A. Vogel Bio Propolis: This saviour has recently returned to the market after many months. It is a great treatment to use at any stage from first tingle to breakout and speeds healing up greatly.
  • Zovirax (also available in generics): This well known cream can help speed up healing and can be used from first tingle.
There are also some home remedies you can try. Applying manuka honey directly onto the blister to speed up healing and help with the sting of the cold sore.  Another great home treatment is making a paste with cornflour and water. This can be applied 3-4 times a day and again will help take the sting out of the blister.
